What is nick gilder?

Nick Gilder is a Canadian musician and songwriter who is best known for his hit single "Hot Child in the City" which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. Gilder started his music career in the 1970s as the frontman of the glam rock band Sweeney Todd before embarking on a solo career.

In addition to "Hot Child in the City," Gilder had other successful songs such as "Here Comes the Night" and "21st Century." He released several albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, although he never achieved the same level of success as "Hot Child in the City."

Gilder continued to perform and release music into the 2000s, and has maintained a loyal fan base. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 1998.
